Amazing 18 Days on the Seabourn Quest

November

Pros: Small ship, family-like atmosphere

Cons: The nightly entertainment show at 9:30 is too late for the clientele. Lunch not served until noon is also late.

Recommended: No

Sailing on the Seabourn Quest was the most relaxing cruise I have ever experienced. There is so much to say about it. The ship was small, accommodating just over 400 guests. At times, you could walk down a hallway or go to an elevator without seeing another person. The crew was incredible; they worked hard to remember your name, likes, and dislikes while providing fast, attentive service—all with a smile. The officers were always present around the ship and were very approachable, often dining in the same restaurants as the guests. Many of them participated in scheduled events as well. The cruise director was fun, bubbly, friendly, and an amazing singer, while the assistant entertainment director was equally engaging but did not sing. Guest services were warm and gracious, always ready to solve any problems or answer questions from guests. It felt as if everyone on board was family. The food was delectable and delightful. The chefs were accommodating and catered to everyone's specific dietary needs or requests. Sailing with Seabourn truly lived up to its slogan: "This is Your Moment!"

Seabourne Request Review

October

Pros: Excellent embarkation and disembarkation prcess we have experienced. Meals and staff were also excellent. Cabin and service also excellent

Cons: Comunication to passengers were not clear, nor was communication from Seabourn to passengers prior to departure.. I thought the excursions were substandard for Seabournas compared to independent vendors we hired when so any of the tours were sold out was in advance. Some tours we had cancelled before emnbarkation were still not cancelled in the ships records.

Recommended: Yes

Seabourn cruises are always good, but this was not one of the best. We found on more than once excursion that when we returned the dinning room was closed and we had to eat our lunch outside in stormy weather. Another lunch the buffet lunch was oversold and they had to open Solis to provide luncheon service or eat outside during stormy weather? Pre-sailing instructions were also confusing on accessions like recommend you bring your own laundry bag. The crew said this was silly as they provide their own laundry bags. The crew was excellent and very helpful. The food was also excellent, thought I thought Solis was some what over rated. The independent excursions were far superior than the Seabourn tours and much cheaper. The embarkation and disembarkation process was the best I have ever experienced from any cruise line. We had an excellent time, so negative comments were minor, but this Seabourn should look into. Even this spell check form doesn't spell Seabourn correctly!!! Unfortunately we had bad weather and some port cancellations due to this.

10 Day Jewels of the Riviera with Seabourn

June

Pros: Great itinerary with wonderful ports of call

Cons: No walking track for those who enjoy walking on board.

Recommended: No

The Seabourn Quest is a beautifully appointed and well kept ship. With a maximum capacity of 450 people, guests feel spoiled and well taken care of. The crew is very attentive and the officers & entertainment departments are consistently mingling with guests which helps the guests to feel special. The cuisine and presentations are all lovely, and they have a nice variety of alternative menus for those with dietary restrictions.  Their  one specialty dining restaurant, Solis, is fabulous.
The gym is very nice for a smaller ship and the all-included classes are excellent.  This ship has 2 self service laundry rooms with ironing boards and full-size irons which came in handy.

A Lovely Cruise in a Beautiful Part of the World

October

Pros: Ship is in excellent condition. The staff is efficient, warm and friendly and anxious to please. The production numbers and guest performers were outstanding, especially considering the small size of the ship. The computers at Seabourn Square are a definite plus for passengers who need to work onboard.

Cons: The Restaurant was only open from 8 AM to 9 AM for breakfast and 12 PM to 1 PM for lunch making the Colonnade quite crowded during the hours it was open. The pool deck dining would have been used more except most days were cold, a couple were rainy, making that dining venue unusable to all but the most hearty. Other than the Thomas Keller fried chicken night at the Colonnade, I must say the food was rather ordinary and the portions small. I ordered lamb chops for dinner at The Restaurant one night, expecting nice thick center cut chops, but received the same three small lollipop chops I received at breakfast. But the gelato and caviar flowed freely, and I enjoyed both. I think The Club and the Observation Lounge are lovely rooms, but generally found them to be crowded. I think the public lounges are too small when the ship is full.

Embarkation at the Port of NYC was simple with an assigned embarkation time. We went straight to the ship without waiting in any kind of line. The rest of the report will be Pros and Cons.
