Explore Canada’s Atlantic seacoast on this scenic vacation to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. Your trip begins and ends in Halifax, with charming fishing villages, natural wonders, and breathtaking vistas in between. Head first to New Brunswick and the Bay of Fundy, site of the world’s highest and most dramatic tides and home to Hopewell Rocks, giant sandstone formations carved by years of tidal erosion. Spend two nights in Saint John, Canada’s oldest incorporated city, established by royal charter in 1785. Take a day excursion to explore the charming and historic town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea where you can take an optional whale-watching cruise. Travel across the 8-mile Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island, famous for its potatoes and red sand beaches, for a two-night stay in Charlottetown. Begin your stay that evening savoring fresh, locally caught lobster at an optional lobster supper. Go on a sightseeing tour of the island with a Local Guide and visit Green Gables Heritage Place, the setting for the beloved novel, Anne of Green Gables. Enjoy a ferry ride back to Nova Scotia, then continue on to Cape Breton Island for a two-night stay in the town of Baddeck. After an orientation tour, visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum with exhibits tracing the achievements of this great inventor who spent the last years of his life on Cape Breton. Keep your camera ready as you travel along the Cabot Trail, one of the most scenic drives in the world, stopping at Cape Breton Highlands National Park to take in the landscape resembling Scottish coastal regions. You’ll return to the city of Halifax for a two-night stay and take a day excursion to visit the quaint fishing village of Peggy’s Cove, home to one of Canada’s most photographed lighthouses. Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg, where you’ll visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the importance the fishing industry has to this region. Day 1 HALIFAX Welcome to Halifax! Upon arrival enjoy some time at leisure to relax or explore on your own. Your Tour Director is on hand from 3-6pm this afternoon in the lobby to answer any questions.

Day 2 HALIFAX–HOPEWELL ROCKS–SAINT JOHN Depart Halifax for Hopewell Rocks located along the shores of the Bay of Fundy, home of the highest tides in the world, which rise and fall up to 52 feet. Visit Fundy National Park before traveling to Saint John for a two-night stay.

Day 3 SAINT JOHN. EXCURSION TO ST. ANDREWS BY-THE-SEA Travel south and take an orientation tour of the charming seaside resort of St. Andrews-by-the-Sea. Have time to explore the historic downtown with its quaint shops and Market Square or visit Kingsbrae Gardens, named one of Canada’s Top Ten Public Gardens. Or take home a whale of a tale on an optional whale-watching and wildlife cruise! (CB)

Day 4 SAINT JOHN–CHARLOTTETOWN See the Saint John River, home to Reversing Falls, a natural tidal phenomenon, before leaving Saint John and driving across 8-mile-long Confederation Bridge, Canada's longest bridge, to Charlottetown, the capital of Prince Edward Island. Tonight is at leisure. Perhaps don a bib and pass the butter at an optional lobster supper! (CB)

Day 5 CHARLOTTETOWN Tour the island with a Local Guide and see sandy beaches and wind-swept dunes at Prince Edward Island National Park. Stop at the seaside port of North Rustico to learn about its famous fishing industry and visit Green Gables Heritage Place, setting for the Anne of Green Gables novels. Afternoon is at leisure. (B)

Day 6 CHARLOTTETOWN–BADDECK Board a ferry and cross Northumberland Strait for Nova Scotia. Arrive in Baddeck, Gateway to the Cabot Trail, on the shores of Bras d’Or Lake. Visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to see exhibits tracing the great achievements of the inventor of the telephone. (B)

Day 7 BADDECK. EXCURSION TO CAPE BRETON HIGHLANDS NATIONAL PARK & CABOT TRAIL Journey on the world-famous Cabot Trail, a spectacular scenic highway with panoramic views of rugged cliffs, deep valleys, forested slopes, and the North Atlantic and Gulf of St. Lawrence. Enter Cape Breton Highlands National Park, with landscapes resembling Scottish coastal regions. Return to Baddeck for an evening at leisure. (CB)

Day 8 BADDECK–HALIFAX Depart Baddeck and return to Halifax. Take a city tour with highlights that include the Public Gardens, Canadian Forces Base, the country’s largest military base and home of the Royal Canadian Navy Atlantic Fleet, and Fairview Lawn Cemetery, final resting place for over one hundred victims of the Titanic. Day 9 HALFAX. EXCURSON TO PEGGY’S COVE & LUNENBURG Start the day with a visit to picturesque Peggy’s Cove with its historic lighthouse, the most photographed in Canada. Then stop at Acadian Maple Products and learn about the history and production of pure Nova Scotia maple syrup. Continue to Lunenberg, one of only two urban communities in North America designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy the colorful streetscapes of this charming harbor town. Visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the rich and diverse fishing heritage and coastal way of life.
